Spin 2 Win is an exercise in creating a themed Tarot deck. Tarot is something that always was interesting to me; a certain amount of cold reading and random chance.

A lot of folks find introspective value in a tarot reading, and I find that interesting. Using that introspection as something of a goal, I put together a list of my favorite fighting game grapplers and created a brief system to allow you to go around our merry little circle and hopefully think about things from a new angle, overcoming whatever problem may be in your way.

When drawing cards, the order they are drawn is important. You begin on the right side of the circle and churn the butter from there and grab hold of your problems (a 360 degree circle is a common grapple motion in fighting games)

Card meanings are drawn from a combination of a characters backstory, gameplay weaknesses and strengths. Knowledge of fighting games is helpful for a more nuanced reading, but an outline is included which describes each card for each of it's drawn position.

  1. The first card drawn represents OPPORTUNITY
Opportunity is all around us, and sometimes we need just a little help recognizing it is there.
Perhaps you have drawn Zangief, The Red Cyclone. When drawn for Opportunity, one may introspect and recognize an opporunity exists for them to bring honor to theircountry or loved ones
  2. The second card drawn represents CHALLENGE:
No opportunity comes without a chance for failure. One may have perfect okizeme and still be met with an invincible wakeup reversal.
Perhaps you have drawn Clark Still, The Unmoving Wall. When drawn for Challenge, one may ponder the ways in which they rely too strongly on time-tested strategies, considering ways in which relying on known strengths may wind up being their downfall.
  3. The third card drawn represents APPROACH:
If through introspection one has recognized their opportunity and challenge, it would behoove them to consider their approach.
Perchance they have drawn Goro Daimon, The Gentle Giant to inspire their approach. Goro may struggle against an onslaught from afar, but is an explosive powerhouse that shakes the Earth, knocking all those who stand in his way off balance. Goro should help participants consider ways in which they, too, may disrupt the advantages of their opponents for their gain.
  4. The fourth and final card drawn represents OUTCOME:
Challenges must be recognized and approached, but they will always lead to an outcome. Looking forward to that outcome may help a reader prepare their heart for it.
As an example, a reader may draw Kanji Tatsumi, The Sheepish Wolf.  Like Kanji, the reader may reflect on how their own insecurities has a part to play in their challenge and look forward to coming out on the other side with new friends who accept them for the whole of who they are.
